How Charming Designs was *born*
Charming Designs happened almost as a happy accident! I was making charm bracelets that just weren't selling on auction sites. Then my best friend Alisa e-mailed me asking if I could make our daughters "friendship" bracelets. That's when the idea was born! I made our daughters bracelets and made some other ones to sell on auction sites and to friends and they took off! It was ideas from friends that sparked the "Mom Bracelets", which is the biggest selling item I carry now!

Where do you get the design names from?
The names of the bracelets are names of my dearest friends daughters. Because I also owe some ideas and inspiration to them, I wanted to thank them by naming bracelets after their little girls. I guess that leaves out my friends who have boys...ah, but don't worry, as the selection grows i'll use *their* names as design names as well! Our group met over the internet in 1999, and has grown to over 35 women. We all love each other like sisters, it's amazing the friendships you can gain from a computer!

My name is Karen Hurst, I am a mommy to a 5 1/2-year-old little girl who is the light of my life! I am married and have just celebrated my 13th anniversary - where has the time gone? I live and operate Charming Designs in Idaho (just moved from Northern California!). I am the sole owner and employee of this modest company that is growing every month! I thank each and every one of my customers and "fans" out there who pass on the good words about my company, website, and products to friends and family!
